Towing a motorhome is different from towing standard vehicles. Here are common questions RV owners ask before booking service.

No. Most standard tow trucks are only rated for light-to-medium duty vehicles. A Class A motorhome requires a heavy-duty wrecker with a high-capacity under-reach to handle the massive weight and long wheelbase. Using the wrong truck can lead to frame damage or accidents, which is why Action Towing uses only certified heavy-duty equipment for RVs.

Towing involves lifting the front wheels and pulling the RV behind a wrecker. RV hauling means the entire vehicle is placed on top of a specialized trailer (like a Landoll). Hauling is often preferred for long distances (like a move to BC or the Yukon) because it results in zero wear on the RV's tires and mechanical systems.

For most motorized RVs, we must disconnect the driveshaft or pull the axles before towing. This prevents the transmission from “spinning dry” while the engine is off. Our technicians are experts at this process and will ensure everything is reconnected properly or safely stored for your mechanic.

Yes. We focus on the chassis and mechanical transport. We recommend that you turn off your propane and ensure all loose items inside the “home” are secured before we move the unit, just as you would before a normal drive.
