Let’s Take A Step Forward Towards Improving Towing Safety In Alberta
In 2017, Bill 215 Traffic Safety (Tow Trucks) Amendment Act was introduced by Grande Prairie-Wapiti MLA Wayne Drysdale. The objective of this bill was to allow tow truck operators to install blue and white warning lights onto their towing units as an effort to make towing operations safer. The blue and white beacons improve the overall safety level by making tow trucks more visible as they perform towing operations on Alberta’s highways. Unfortunately, no further action was taken to put this bill into action.
As a professional towing company in Edmonton, we take safety seriously and do everything in our capacity to ensure safety and enhance the quality of our services. As a collaborative effort with other towing companies, we have decided to take steps to promote this bill and make it a reality. Mr. Brian Mason, Alberta’s Transportation Minister, can make this happen through regulation of the Highway Traffic Act.
